About Maz

Thank you for visiting my site. I hope you enjoy viewing my art.

I’m a free spirit who loves to create.  A self-taught artist, I discovered the thrill of putting paint on canvas a few years ago. Now I’m addicted!  Ideas bubble around in my mind all the time. I’m compelled to produce art. Constantly. When I’m not creating I feel lost. Making art makes me happy.  If viewing my art makes other people happy then that is wonderful. But it’s not essential that others like my work because it is the act of creating it that fulfills me. I would love to be able to say that my work has some deep meaning hidden within, but truthfully, I just paint for the sheer joy of it.

I’m very eclectic in my tastes. My home has a wide variety of art, books and furniture. So my art goes in all directions depending on my mood and what is catching my imagination at any one time. I don’t paint to make a copy of reality. So if my art looks a little off; my trees a little weird; my dogs peculiar colors; my landscapes not in perspective – forgive me, that is just how I love to paint.

I currently share my home with four cats and my first ever dog, Lulu. I am constantly amazed, amused and intrigued by this four-legged friend who is so cute and funny and sweet. I never knew it would be so much fun to have a dog! Her name is Lulu. I have only painted one picture of her so far, but I know there will be many more.

I’m originally from England and moved to the United States in 2000. I currently live in beautiful Fort Lauderdale, Florida. I was a professional singer for almost 20 years, mostly working in hotels in various countries and also on cruise ships. Although I no longer perform – my stage is now a canvas – I still love music and always have some playing while I paint.

Things I love:-

Animals, books, nature, trees, leaves, roses, reading, drinking coffee and, as you have probably guessed, I Love Color!
